If you were to put the woods in a jar, you would have "Evergreen". With mild citrus top notes and a core of cedar and fir, this one smells like Christmas trees and campfires. A great scent to set the tone for holiday fun and entertaining, but also works well to create a more quiet, peaceful mood by the fireplace. Warm up to "Evergreen" this winter!

Notes on Cotton vs. Wooden Wicks
Wooden wicks burn slower and cleaner. Your flame will be more dim and burn lower than a typical cotton wick, so if you're looking for a MoreFire brighter flame, then cotton is the way to go. For reference, a wooden wick will typically add about 10hrs of burn time to an 8oz candle.

-COTTON WICKS are fast and easy. They will often “mushroom” or “bloom"- the black ball you see at the top of a burning wick. This should always be trimmed. Cotton wicks are more of a grab and go kind of candle, trim the wick and they’ll light right away.
*Our cotton wicks are lead and zinc free. They maintain a slight curl when burning. The curl moves the tip of the wick into the hottest part of the flame, which helps to minimize carbon buildup (mushrooming), reduce smoking, and provide a 'self-trimming' effect. This creates a very stable and consistent flame.

-WOODEN WICKS can be finicky. The first lighting usually takes right away, but for the second and subsequent burnings, a wooden wick will need a bit more care and time. In fact, it may take a couple tries to relight a wooden wick. They require more time for the fire to get through the outer, more charred layers of wood. It's like lighting a campfire- the wood can take a couple of times to catch, but when it does, enjoy the therapeutic sounds of the crackling wick!

Whisper wicks are made from a sweet Mid-West softwood and crackling wicks are made from native, sappy fruit trees, both sourced from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified mills. These wood species are not listed in the CITED appendices or on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Our adhered wicks use a vegan, non-toxic proprietary adhesive and are untreated.
